Damen Naval is offering its employees a referral bonus of €1,000 when they recruit a suitable candidate for one of the many vacancies within the company. In part due to the F126 project, there are currently about 90 vacancies. Most of these vacancies are within the operations and engineering departments, but other departments are also eagerly looking for new staff.

The COVID-19 crisis has brought traditional recruitment events such as career fairs, university and college visits, and other job events to a standstill. In order to qualify for the €1,000 bonus, a Damen Naval employee needs to ask ‘their’ applicant to refer to them by name in the letter of application sent for a vacancy posted on career.damen.com/jobs. The bonus will be paid after the applicant has been hired and completes the probationary period successfully. All employees can participate in the scheme, with the exception of the MT, HR and managers of positions for which they are directly responsible. Subcontractors, temporary staff hired through employment agencies, and former employees are not eligible for the bonus scheme.

Potential candidates must also meet certain conditions: they have not been employed by Damen Naval for at least 12 months; and they must be given a contract for a permanent position, rather than a temporary contract, or as a subcontractor, et cetera.
