How one idea changed shipbuilding forever: that is the story of Damen Shipyards Group’s podcast. The first episodes of the new podcast are available to listen to and the remaining episodes will be shared in the coming weeks.

The podcast covers Damen’s rich history and extraordinary beginnings. Through a unique narrative and the voices of family members, as well as other key figures such as historians, the podcast tells how the company grew into an international company through the strong entrepreneurial spirit of Kommer Damen. Compelling anecdotes, sound clips from the past, and imaginative stories make this podcast a valuable source of information and worth listening to.

It is a rich audio production with great attention to music and recognisable sounds. Besides the Damen family members, numerous people who have been of great value in the development of Damen are featured, including Coen Boudesteijn, Piet Hein Noordenbos, René Berkvens, Hein van Ameijden, Jeroen Heesters and many others. The main character is, of course, Kommer Damen. His story is placed in a broader historical context, by also looking at Damen with people from outside the company.

The podcast consists of 6 parts and roughly covers the past century: from the very beginning in 1927 to the future ambitions of the directors at the helm today.
